VetsInTech and Google Cloud are excited to invite you to participate in a Google Cloud Certification challenge. This 6-10 week program will give you access to free training and is designed to prepare you for the Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer certification exam.

Who:

US Veterans covered under a GI Bill.

What:

Exclusive free access to Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer training to prepare you for the certification exam (fee required but reimbursed by the VA). All training is available online and exams may be scheduled for online, remote proctoring or at a local test center. The prescribed learning will be supplemented with webinars and office hours hosted by Google Cloud technical trainers and Cloud Certified Googler Veterans.

If you attempt the certification exam a fee is required, but you may request reimbursement from the Veterans Administration. The VA recognizes Google Cloud certification exams as reimbursable certification tests for qualified US Veterans covered under a GI Bill. When:

6 – 10 week program beginning the week of June 1.

Where:

This program is completely online, so there’s no need to show up to a classroom in person. You can access your prescribed coursework anytime and anywhere via the web or your mobile device. Online reviews and office hours will be recorded and the recordings will be made accessible if you are unable to attend.

Why:

Cloud skills are in demand. Google Cloud skills are especially in high demand, with a 66.74% increase over the past year in job listings. Cloud certifications are a great way to demonstrate your skills to the larger IT market. Not only does it validate your cloud skills and experience to recruiters, it demonstrates your value to your current employer. Getting certified can open up opportunities to progress within your company and could help in the next review of your compensation package.

What is an Associate Cloud Engineer?

An Associate Cloud Engineer deploys applications, monitors operations, and manages enterprise solutions. This individual is able to use Google Cloud Console and the command-line interface to perform common platform-based tasks to maintain one or more deployed solutions that leverage Google-managed or self-managed services on Google Cloud.

Recommended Prerequisites:

Although the ability to program is not required, familiarity with the following IT concepts is highly recommended:

• Virtual machines
• Operating systems
• File systems
• IP networking stack
• How web browsers and web servers communicate
• Databases
• Programming
• Working with Linux at the command line
