Pier 9 sits on the northern Embarcadero between the Ferry Building and Pier 39, directly on the waterfront where Fleet Week's on-the-bay activity takes place.

Getting There

  • BART / Muni: Embarcadero Station is roughly a 15-minute walk south along The Embarcadero. The F-line historic streetcar also runs along The Embarcadero and stops near the piers.
  • From SFO: Take BART directly to Embarcadero Station (about 30 minutes), or expect 25–45 minutes by car depending on traffic.
  • From Oakland (OAK): BART to Embarcadero Station via the Coliseum connector, or around 30 minutes by car across the Bay Bridge.
  • Ferry: Bay ferries arrive at the Ferry Building, a short walk down The Embarcadero.
  • Parking: Street parking on The Embarcadero is limited. Public garages are available nearby; rideshare drop-off at Pier 9 is the simplest option.

During Fleet Week, expect road closures and heavy congestion along the northern waterfront, especially around the Blue Angels flight windows. Allow extra time, and favor BART, ferries, or walking over driving.

Housing

The Embarcadero and Financial District put a wide range of hotels within walking distance of Pier 9, with more options around Union Square a short ride away.

Book early. Fleet Week is one of San Francisco's busiest weekends of the year, and waterfront hotels fill well in advance.

Details on a discounted hotel block for summit attendees will be posted here once confirmed.
