Welcome 2024!
As we welcome the new year, we would like to share some of the goals we have set for ourselves here at VetsinTech. This year we hope to build on past successes and continue to deliver on our goals to support veterans and military spouses in the areas of employment, education, engagement, and entrepreneurship. Here is some of what we hope to accomplish this year:
Army vs Navy Game Watch Party
Meta would like to invite the Vetsintech community to the upcoming Meta Vets & Allies Army Navy Game on Dec 9th. All Veterans and Allies and their families are welcome to attend. The event serves as a cultural moment intended to bring together our Meta and local Bay Area Veterans Communities and encourage charitable donations (Toys for Tots). During the event we will be collecting donations for toys for tots and are encouraging all attendees to bring at least one toy. Everyone who donates will receive a raffle ticket, and 3 lucky winners will be chosen at random to receive one of our awesome raffle prizes (Meta Quest 3, Meta Ray-Ban Smart Glasses (2x))
Recent Events: ViT Pitch Contest 2023
This Friday, VetsinTech held an in-person pitch event sponsored by JPMorgan Chase & Co. at the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center here in San Francisco. We were pleased to showcase five startup finalists founded by military veterans.
HELP SUPPORT: AB46
As some of you know, California is now the only state in the nation that fully taxes veterans pensions and survivor benefits. Needless to say, this policy can make it hard for veterans and military families to make ends meet. That's why VetsinTech is working hard to help pass a bill, known as AB46, that would set things right. Estimates say that passing this bill would generate at least 12,600 more jobs and add $830 million to total personal income for our military families. Anyone interested in helping should contact their state senator and encourage them to pass AB46.
